Lindsay to Gelert, 1959.

This is a video of the railway I'm modelling, and from the same time period. This family is travelling from Lindsay to Gelert (in central Ontario, about 1.5 - 2 hours north-east of Toronto). The title the poster made is incorrect; the last passenger train ran on September 3, 1960. Gelert is south of Haliburton, where the branchline ended. Gelert is also where my great-great grandparents and other family lived.

    Sean Trofin Graham, I don't recognize the family name. I never heard my grandmother mention that family name, and I don't remember seeing the name in the Gelert Cemetery. The family may have been from the nearby town of Minden. Minden is the county seat and close eno...  more
