Soo Line Pacific 713 at the point of an abbreviated pool train to Thief River Falls pulls out of Duluth, Minnesota, one day in May, 1948. The Railroad Post Office car has had a recent coat of Canadian Pacific maroon paint, while the wood coach (which looks like it could be modeled by splicing two La Belle open platform coach kits) appears to be on one of its last runs. This is an example of one of those prototype jewels that fits perfectly on even the smallest layout. Photo is by W. C. Whittaker.
