P HOTO 1 1 . B ethlehem Engine terminal. The coaling tower i s a model of the actual structure. It is built of cardstock, using photos and some paced-off dimensions as a construction guide. Post-steam the original was used as a sanding tower in the oil-soaked facility! To the rear can be seen the LV's Union Street tower, modeled from pictures I took for that purpose a third of a century ago! When the new Reading line to Harrisburg is constructed, this tower will actually have a purpose, controlling the wye junction, which will be a lift-up.
