I like to hand lay all my track, and I am in the process of starting a new shelf layout. I hope to hand lay all the track. I will be doing a clinic in April on making your own turnouts. This will be a hands on clinic, so for those club members who build a turnout (HO or N) they will leave with there very own turn out.

Another section of ME code 55 on an industrial siding with a PRR style concrete bumper from Pre-siz, I think. It's a really neat little signature PRR item....

ME code 55 painted and weathered, and appropriately ballasted as little used industrial spur and interchange trackage in western NY state.

How do you get ballasted track to be quiet? The cork and homasote are great for quiet running until you glue all that ballast down - then it seems just as noisy as if it were just plywood.
Guys, anyone else using ME flex track in the 55-70 sizes? I really like this stuff and was told by several modelers that it wouldn't work, but its been great, just takes a little getting used to as far as working with it goes as it's a bit stiff.
