Barry Kingsbeer's Album: Highway Miniatures steam shovel.

I dragged up an ancient Highway Miniatures plastic kit of a steam shovel from the vault. Some time back I'd assembled the caterpillar tracks and then given up the ghost. The parts are pure HO scale and so tiny and delicate that I felt overwhelmed by the thought of trying to assemble it. It was time to rise to the challenge. here is where I am now.

    Barry Kingsbeer Thanks, the parts are so fine and small that you can't pre-paint as you'd have no gluing surface. I just built sub assemblies and then sprayed them then brush coloured details. The little hoist engine was a nightmare to stick together. I'm dreading riggin...  more
