I had one of these many years ago; it might have been my first craftsman kit. That one is long gone, but I recently found a new one.

    Barry Kingsbeer I take it those are printed card sides? It will be interesting to see how realistic they turn out on the finished article.

    Mark Charles I think the sides are screen printed on scribed
    basswood. These wsre high-quality kits back in the 1960s.

    Steve Neubaum Looks like a lot of fun. Barry, Ulrich, Silver Streak, and I think Main LIne Models used screen printing on basswood like Mark said. Printed cardstock sides were more common in the prewar era but fell out of favor after WWII. Varney did some amazing stuff...  more
